Hey man! This is great news :)

I don't know if this helps but yesterday I made a post (on this page: viewtopic.php?f=85&t=68511&start=20 ) in which I reported update hanging in the IPR.

You'll see about three posts from me, the initial post is me trying to get my head around the issue and then there are two more further down where I managed to narrow it down a bit more.

In a nutshell, the way I managed to get it to crash is by using a particle system with a Sweep to make trails and after about 40 - 50 frames of animation Octane gets stuck updating. This doesn't happen in 3.08 (I tested it out) so I hope that helps.

I did attach a scene file (which will expire in 6 days) but it uses the Early Access build of X-Particles so I expect that might cause problems your end in identifying the issue. Just to be thorough, I spoke with Insydium and they couldn't identify an issue their end.

The initial post I made about this was the one marked "Thu Aug 16, 2018 1:11 pm" - I didn't want to make a mess of the thread by just re-posting stuff, I hope this was the right call :)

If you could let me know if this info is of any use that would be awesome, then I can just leave it to you guys and not bother anyone with it in future.

Cheers guys :)

Is it intended that Universal Sub material misses Medium input while simple Uni mat has it?

EDIT Also fake shadows in sub uber mat is super awaited!

Hey Aoktar, can I possibly request a slight UI change with the emission channel?

A lot of the time when I mean to click on the texture input shader/button, I accidentally miss it and click the "blackbody emission" or "texture emission" buttons instead because they're so close.
This deletes the current shader and replaces it with a blank new one. Ctrl+Z doesn't work undo this, so the only option is rebuild the shader or close Cinema and go back to your last save.

Is it possible to to make this action undoable? Or just add some space between the texture shader button and the blackbody/texture emission buttons?

I added UNDO for those. It will be available in V4-RC2-R1 build.

Could someone walk me through how I access the Denoiser Beauty pass that's been rendered from the Picture Viewer?

I can see the denoised beauty in the render layers within the picture viewer, but the saved file (an EXR), when opened in Photoshop, is black.

What am I missing?

Still just crashing when trying to open C4D...
what would help sort that out? Nvidia and Cuda drivers are up to date.

Hi SRCOBB,
there is an issue in 4RC1 SDK with CPUs older than 2011, but has been already solved in 4RC2, so next version of plugin will not have this issue.
