Here is a new version which is based latest SDK 3.04.5.

Changes of V3.04.5-R2
- Fix: VertexColor(R18) issue
- Fix: Memory leak for ImageTexture in Picture Viewer rendering.

Changes of V3.04.5
- Vertex weights and Vertex Color support. Note that: Octane render has not real support for this. And plugin simulates vertex weights by generating images. So this is a bit limited for some cases.

Changes of V3.04.3-R1
- Fix the crash on livedb with deleted localdb dir
- Fix wrong scaling of TFD. Just works with uniform scaling.

Changes of V3.04.3
- Mograph support for Voronoi object
- SDK 3.04.3 fixes(see standalone link)

Changes since 3.03.3-R1
- fix on instance engine. Fixed some update problems with visibility changes, etc...
- Added W gradient node for hair gradients.
- Animated ORBX improvements
- fix: TurbulenceFD container rot/scaling
- Added more object masks
- reversed z-axis orientation for VDB volumes
- fix: Node editor(OSX) RMB-context menu problem
- Alpha/opacity support for materials in viewport with octane shading.
- Volume objects will support objecttag parameters as opacity/layerID/etc... anymore.
- GI_AMBIENT/GI_SAMPLE_AMBIENT removed from GI mode of Direct Lighting Kernel. Check your settings of your old scenes.
-AO ambient texture has been added to environment tag. It will work on DL kernel with AO mode.

MATERIAL STACKING LIMITATIONS
- Only works with c4d materials and octane materials and will not work with mix materials in any combination
- Works on movable meshes. So it requires to be in auto mode for LV or auto detect for PV or object tag in manual mode. Doesn't work on "Send all data" method.
- Works with flat/cube/cylindrical/spherical projection types. Tiling support. Doesn't account the current tag's UVW mapping coordinates. It takes it from previous material which has not alpha/opacity.
- Can work with selection assignments. But it's still limited on complex selection sets
- Go with mix material setups for advanced usages


Requirements:
-You'll need to update your Cinema 4D to latest versions(16.050, 17.053 or 18.028). Otherwise the plugin will not work and not appear in menus.
-Internet connection for activation, be sure that C4D and Octane will not be blocked by firewall and any antivirus software.
-Updated Nvidia drivers(at least 344.x(Cuda 6.5 or later) for V2.x, Cuda 7.5 for V3.x.

Installation
First remove all octane related stuff from plugins and main folder of Cinema4D.

Extract all files to Cinema4D\plugins\c4dOctane directory.
Also download manual.zip and extract to c4dOctane directory if it's not available in place.

There are a few files for each one is for different Cinema4D version. Remove all except the file is for your version.
Ex. if you have Cinema4D R16.0, keep only "c4dOctane-r16.cdl64" and delete c4dOctane-r15.cdl64, c4dOctane-r14.cdl64, etc..

Cinema 4D Release 13: c4dOctane-r13.cdl64
Cinema 4D Release 14: c4dOctane-r14.cdl64
Cinema 4D Release 15: c4dOctane-r15.cdl64 or c4doctane_R15_demo.dylib
Cinema 4D Release 16: c4dOctane-r16.cdl64 or c4doctane_R16_demo.dylib
Cinema 4D Release 17: c4dOctane-r17.cdl64 or c4doctane_R17_demo.dylib


PLEASE IMPORTANT NOTICE
New License system:
We'll run it over the new license system and login window anymore. So you'll need to enter OTOY userid and password to able run the plugin and standalone. This is same combination to entering for Account page of Otoy.
This mean that you shouldn't try to use plugin id/pass pairs since this time. Also this system choose one of your licenses if you have many.

On any login issues see this post and topic:

If you have C4D startup hangups try to delete these files.
Windows: %APPDATA%/OctaneRender/otoy_credentials
OSX: ~/Library/OctaneRender/otoy_credentials (you may have to use Finder's Go->Go To Folder... and type "~/Library/OctaneRender" - without the quotes - to get to that folder)


CUDA requirements
Due to a CUDA compiler bug we had switch to CUDA 7.5, which means on Windows and Linux you may need to update your NVIDIA graphics driver to a current version which supports at least CUDA 7.5. On Mac OSX you may have to update the CUDA driver for Mac to a current version supporting at least CUDA 7.5.

BUG REPORTS
I'll be happy, if anyone can be specific on their bug reports.
I need to know that your plugin version/Os/HW and last operations before crashes to reproduce and investigate the same problem.
And please attach a SCENE and BUGREPORT.ZIP.
Please post your reports in topic of version which is related or use bugreports section of this forum

The OS X version has a empty "res" folder after downloading :(

I copied the missing files from the 3_03_4_R3 version into the "res" folder.
--> This works! ...but (?)

Can someone please show an example of this new W gradient node for hair and is it possible now to map a texture (grass) along the height of the hair Like in C4D materials?

Not a good idea. Somethings can be different. I have fixed the downloads.

Hi,
see image. You need to add octane material to hair geometry.

For your information, there is no node anywhere for the "W Coor" in the Node Editor interface.
By the way, it works fine if you add the "W Coor" node from the standard C4D material editor. Not a big problem then... :roll:
