Hey All!

Im new to the 2020.2.1 versions, but I just wondered was the scattering medium changed or altered?

When I open projects from the previous version all the scattering mediums within specular materials look different.

Totally cool if things were changed, just want to know what so I can get back the looks I created with other versions....

Hi Aoktar!
Is it possible to use color data for particles itself?
I use texture emission to drive color of the particles, and can get color for trails, but not for the particles. It is so close, yet seems to be quite far away.

Hi Beppe,

had set "all objects movable".
Now with a brand new project (4 Mio Polys/8 GB VRam) the same behavior. Hangs at "collect"and died when trying to cancel.
Tried with Version 2020.2-R2, 2020.2-R3, 2020.1.5.

But after another try, after about 26 Minutes (went to the supermarket meanwhile), the rendering with MB starts.

But could this be right, that MB needs so long to prepare?
Could anyone please check if this also happens with other scenes, or its realy just me?

thanks
Mike

When trying to get something like car-light streaks
I get following error!

Any tips on how to set up this kind of MB without crash?

Mike

Why are you using extreme values for motion blur? Rtx and this can cause that, it's my assumption from your single picture

Hi,
I noticed a weird behaviour. When I drag in LV a material on a cloner object, it goes to a specific clone. And not only that, I cannot see it in object manager. Have u experienced this issue?

Thanks

I read at the beginning of the thread that this new build of octane will break old x-particles support. So does that mean I wont be able to use x-particles with octane how I have been since 2019? I baught x-particles 4 in 2019 and I will not be updating it.

I don't know which versions will work. For example it's not working with 744 version, but 9xx series worked. Using the latest XP sdk that caused this.

Hi Ahmet,
I'm not a photographer, but from my understanding I thought, when a car takes 2 seconds to come from a to b,
and I want a light streak the whole length from a to b, I need an exposure of 2 seconds. Not?
Anyway - "RTX" is a good tip! I have this "on" all the time.

Thanks
Mike

I will get round to testing it at some point. The last build of x-particles i can use is 732.
