Hi,
The issues you are having are partially to do with the increased demand V3 now has on your VRAM.
Bear in mind that, in most cases, the host application places an additional demand on your VRAM, so increased memory consumption compared to the Standalone is to be expected. It could be possible that 3ds Max is making a higher demand of your GPU's memory in order to output to a 4K screen. Unless the 4K screen is a major factor (this will need to be tested on our end), the drop shouldn't be as drastic.
- Is it possible for you to test on a non-4K screen and compare?
- Have you tried committing one GPU to rendering while using the other exclusively for display when using 3ds Max? (If the rendering times from using two cards is not twice the speed of using the one card, this would go a long way to singling out 3ds Max and the 4k screen as the culprit).
I will need to confirm if 4K screens are available for testing on our side. Hopefully the questions above will be of assistance to you, and that we can get to the bottom of this asap.
