Hi HHbomb,
I tested your scene using V2018, v2019 ans v2020, no issue or performance difference.
I attached a clip using V2019 like a sample.

Hi..testing this.. can someone please explain why i have what seems to be duplicate material types?

also whats the difference between the "R" Universal, Diffuse and Glossy Material and the regular ones?

also..would it not make more sense for the hair material organization of parameters to have the MODE first and then the parameters? just a suggestion to tidy things up... :)

Hi,
here is a crop of a render. Adaptative sampling is On and Denoising On.
Emissive material ( flames ) have some grain even when denoised (by adaptative sampling and denoising) because it have opacity map.

Why otoy dont releases "2020 version and some newer version" for the reguler licance user?
I also noticed most newest version is "OctaneRender® for 3ds max® v2019.2-XB3 - 9.01 TEST"
Why this delay happening

I need caustic photon multipler settings like in vray.
You force us to have to use some other render engines for caustic renders.

Hi Paride,
still a bug where itoo is not rendered.

scene crashes

sky is black even the sun is in the scene

I attached the scene through wetransfer; https://wetransfer.com/downloads/d534b8 ... 938/d81910

UPDATE:
If you reset material editor crash might disappear but it still doesn't fix itoo.

I just tried 4.04 6.17 and it renders itoo that is in the scene attached. They did something to itoo

Hi Nildoe,
Thanks for checking;
Sorry, the 'R' materials should be ignored, the normal ones should be faster in the material editor.
That's right, the Mode should be first, and ideally only the corresponding options should be editable / enabled..
The order of the options is matching what is done is Stand Alone, but I'll see if I can re-arrange a bit for this case..
Thanks

Hi candemirdesign,
Octane for 3dsMax v2019.1.5 - 8.15 is available here:
viewtopic.php?f=80&t=73563
Caustic tips:
Specular material > Dispersion Coefficient - Increasing this value increases the coloration amount and dispersion in the object's transmission and in caustics.
Path tracing Kernel > Caustic Blur - Reduces noise in caustic light patterns. High values result in soft caustic patterns.
PMC kernel > Rendering with PMC creates physically accurate lighting and caustic effects to produce the highest quality results, but it can also take the most time to render, depending on the scene.
