Hi Paride,
i am sorry for bugging you again about this. Can you please answer this question?
When will octane support phoenix particle texture map so we can have wet and dry mask for texture. Currently it renders wetmap as mesh. I emailed support and asked here 100 times but noone answers. We really dont wanna switch to vray because of this
At least tell me if it cannot be done
Thank you

It doesn't work. Running FPP 6.2.2 here.

See screenshot. What's wrong there?

Hi mbetke,
You also need to enable 'Use Direct geometry handler', that's the first option of this 'Support' tab.

Note that when creating new scenes, or loading old ones, this should be enabled by default, if you don't have it disabled in the Global preferences:
See 'Kernel default' tab, make sure 'Disable New geometry handler' is off.
Thanks

Hi coilbook,
Sorry for the late response.
We investigated the use of Phoenix wetmap as a texture, and it doesn't seems possible at the moment. But this can be done with some development update in Octane engine, and it's added to their next features list. We can't give a precise time frame for the moment, but we'll keep you posted as soon as it's available.
Thanks

But you can not come up with a wheel and enable important functions by default? Forest doesn't work for me
before that, we just started and everything worked, now we need to look for something else to include the same nonsense
Video FP bug

Hi Elvissuperstar007,
Sorry, the UI can be quite confusing indeed, and the error message is not clear..
Those issues should be fixed in the next release.

Thanks for your video; as I can see, you need to enable 'Use Direct geometry handler' (1st option in Support tab / Common Scene Collection Settings)
Then, you can set Forest pack support to 'Direct'.
Note that 'Discard' will not process or render any Forest object; (like if you hide all Forest objects..)
Note also that if you want to use 'Standard' support type, the Forest object render mode must be set as 'Meshes' instead of the default 'Automatic' (Forest object panel, 'Display' rollup, Render group )
I hope that helps,

Hi,

1. I did like you said my itoo is not rendering either. Please fix it ASAP we cannot work. It seems that old scenes with itoo dont work new ones do. Why?

I attached the scene here where you can see itoo cannot be rendered

2. Also opening octane viewport and unchecking use object geometry handler crashes max
