Format: v<Octane engine version> - <plugin version>
This is the beta release, so any issues are expected. Please report the bugs in the "Bug reports" section.
Currently the only work on implementing a support of new features that still popping up in all the new 3.X rendering engine releases and bugfixing of already implemented ones will be going on for this plugin. If I will have time in between of this and the other urgent projects I work on - I will be adding some new features of the plugin itself...
Changes of the 3.10 version
- Implemented the target-mode for IES lights. The newly created IES light nodes will now have the target node - in this case the "Orientation" setting of the IES light is ignored and the target node is used to orient the light. The IES lights not having target node - will behave the old way and use the "Orientation" setting.
- Minor fixes and improvements...

Previous versions changelog (since major 3.0 release):
- Code: Select all
Changes of the 3.9 version
- Moved to 3.0 beta 2 rendering core.
- Implemented the animation file-sequence support for Octane volume object. Set "Frame number digits" other than "0" if you have a sequence of .vdb files named like <file name>0000.vdb, <file name>0001.vdb ... <file name>0014.vdb etc, and set the filename attribute pointing to <file name>.vdb.
Changes of the 3.8 version
- A couple of minor fixes and improvements...
Changes of the 3.7 version
- Fixed a bug: ramp attributes inaccessible in volume medium node.
- Fixed a bug: crash when rendering a hair with more than 100 vertices.
Changes of the 3.6 version
- Fixed a couple of issues in Octane viewport behaviour.
- Fixed a fluctuating bug triggered by some setups (thanks cmatias).
Changes of the 3.5 version
- New 3.0 beta 1 core.
- Implemented the experimental support of render state saving for final rendering mode of single frame. If rendering lasted more than 1 minute and you cancel it - you'll be prompted to save the render state. Next time you start the render you will be prompted to use the saved state. If you choose to use it - the new render will continue from the previously cancelled point. Be sure that you've made no changes to the scene since previous state saving - otherwise your saved state makes no sense...
- Fixed bug: stereo comboboxes of common camera settings did not work correctly.
Changes of the 3.4 version
- Fixed bug: lack of SPP indication in region render mode.
- Implemented workaround for the issue with 2017 image buffer.
Changes of the 3.3 version
- Implemented Standart Blend material conversion.
- Fixed animation rendering bug.
- Uninstaller now leaves tbb.dll in place.
Changes of the 3.2 version
- Fixed a bug with some nodes interconnections.
- Fixed the lack of "Render elements" tab in render settings of 3ds Max 2017.
Changes of the 3.1 version
- New 3.0 alpha 10 engine.
- Implemented a support of 3ds Max 2017.
- Implemented an opportunity to set up custom channel-IDs of VDB file in Octane OpenVDB object. Leave them empty to use defaults.
- Implemented "3ds Max gamma hack" checkbox feature to workaround the lack of separate gamma setup for render viewport in 3ds Max. Usable only if you need to use camera curves applied on Octane level. Don't use it for linear workflow.
- Added "Minimum" and "Size" fields to baking camera properties.
- Implemented the opportunity to use F-Stop in camera instead of Aperture.
- Improved auto file naming for deep image saved after final render is finished.
- Fixed transform bug in image textures.
- Fixed bug: wrong medium "invert absorption" value after conversion.
- Fixed bug: ortho views rendered incorrectly in final render mode.
- A couple of minor fixes and improvements...
