Hi coilbook,
Could you describe how did you get this bug ?
I might happen when closing and re opening the Octane viewport a bit too quickly and if the scene is heavy maybe ?

Thanks reporting the other issues; I'll look into it.

I think it went away. It didnt like linked objects. Now this version will not update vdb even though it set as octane proxy

This is what you fixed in the version 13.13 "Fixed Octane Volume unnecessary updates when changing the node transform"

i wonder this is the reason now linked volumes wont update now. Can you return it back to how it was or update during rendering at least.

Question about Hair and Fur (the default 3dsmax plugin) memory consumption:

I have three little seats with 150000 hairs each. But the scene takes long to evaluate and uses 22GB of VRam plus 4GB out of core. Is this right or a bug?
Also, how can I setup proper Hair material for the H&F? Material looks very random and even after auto-conversion I wasn't able to find an Octane Material somewhere. All tutorials I could found are for Cinema only.

Hi,
I am trying to create displaced plowed paths using marble and vertex displacement but nothing works. What am I doing wrong? OCtane creates a large scale noise displacement and not where marble texture is. Thanks

Hello,
We have to do power 100 to get a normal sky texture otherwise it is pure black. Thanks

PS By the way, if you set Sun intensity to 0.01 or less it is still a bright white sphere

Maybe there is something out of scale by factor 100 with your units setup?
Using "HDRI Haven" skies all the time and set them to 0.5 power. 1.0 would also good.

Hi coilbook,
I can't replicate your vdb issue, everything seems to be going smoothly.
Could you share a scene replicating your issue?

Could you use a bake map node to feed a texture displacement instead of vertex?
