Daz/Poser vs Octane Plugin Skin Shaders

Hi there, i work with Carrara and Daz models, but i've always love the look of Daz Characters in Daz Studio.

I buy octane plugin because i've seen similar or even better skin renders in octane. Unfortunately i'm noob, so after many hours trying, i can't get the desired results in Octane.

I am using the Daz Skin SSS glossy + Diffuse shader from Octane Live DB.

I think it looks nice, but SSS in Poser or Daz look better, and don't know what to do to make it equal.

This is an example of my render:

These are examples of my goal:

Hi Namtar,
Very nice 2nd image, Natmar. I like the competition this presents.
This is not my area, but I will enjoy seeing how this develops. I can tell you that for my work, Octane has taken some learning, and continues to. You may find what you are after in the Stand Alone forum.

Just do a google search for “octane skin shader” you’ll find videos and articles galore. A lot are for daz studio but you should be able to use the same settings in Carrara.

Hi,
Just some ideas.
a) You'll need good textures for the skin.
b) You'll need a basic understanding of SSS in Octane. Octane is a little bit different than other Render Engines in this respect.
c) Use Pathtracing instead of Direct lighting.
Best wishes,
Thomas
