- Graphics Card(s) - model (ie. GTX 580, 3GB)
- Nvidia driver version

Thanks for the update. Looking forward to the new additions and tweaks to come. Is there a plan to get the Material layer working?
It appears that there is an infrastructure in place since you can use the Carrara tools to draw the bounding box on your object to select face/section and it is assigned as a new material in Carrara. However if you set material to Octane type the entire model is then set to that material not just the assigned faces or area.

Unfortunately, no. Octane has no facility to do this. You would have to create a new uv mapping to support this and even then there is no 'layering' capability in the material system. I'm not even sure how Carrara exposes these layers through the API.

I think you can only use beta versions with a v2 license. To use v3.0.20.11 or greater you need a v3 license.

In that case, could I take you up on your offer to back port some of the changes done in 3? Specifically, the Render Room, Batch Queue, and anything we have dealt with regarding Object Layers and Visibility issues?

Please try this version. If you have no issues with it then I'll mark it as stable.

Thanks, Simon. I will give it a go. Will probably upgrade soon, also. Not sure why the Standalone needs upgrading. I guess the plugin accesses the Standalone somehow? .....through the magic conduit of my wallet?

Hi Simon,
Could we possibly have the Octane Object Layer function move to the General Tab? This would be better than the current position in Modifiers, or previous in Effects. Much too cumbersome to get to in heavy scenes?
Aside from the speed of access, In the General Tab, one can see if the Octane Object Layer is in conflict with the native visible toggle.

Also , I am having intermittent trouble with the marque the sequencer. In previous versions, this related to Carrara native shaders that did not fully adapt to Octane Materials.
.
Thank you,
Rick
