Octane Renderer renders two times the same frame...why?

Hello, I have got installed the latest version of Octane, I have got also C4D R21 and I have a problem with export where I get two times the same frame, one is ovebrighted and another one is fine but in its name it has _MAIN...

I do remember that I found in the official documentation somewhere info about not using the Cinema 4D render setting save option as it makes this happens but nothing worked for me. Now I just have everything exported two times so my Hard Drive is full of duplicated export. Anyone know about this issue? Can help?

Not sure! Better to share some example scene.

In your render settings, there's the ability for C4D to save the frame, and also Octane to save the frame directly (bypassing C4D's poor color management). The _Main frame is from Octane's AOV save system and the other is from C4D.

It sounds like your C4D save settings are incorrect, but more info would be necessary. Screenshots of your C4D render settings would help.

Hello, thank you for your reply, yes I have the default C4D save option enabled because when I disable it it renders some sequence right beside the project file on my HD...even the location is set up as tokens... It just ignores it and save sequence even there where is my project file... Such a mess.

Hello, so I have collected a the projects and also i have created screenshots. I really need a help with this.
I do remember in some version of Octane I must to use the beauty AOV pass to get the right beauty image... I could not use the base C4D render save option there...

Please can someone help me how to render with octane, when I need for example Render layer ID and just beauty image? Should I use the standart method option in C4D or just Octane AOV passes?

Please take a look on attached project and also take a look on image screenshots.

I'm not sure I follow exactly what's happening after looking at your attached files but you will always need to have both cinema and octane save their files, and just ignore cinema's files. I recommend using tokens to control where they get saved to.

Also you might get the behavior you're looking for from cinema's save function if you set the Render Settings> Octane Renderer> Main> Buffer Type: LDR 8-bit. I believe you're looking to receive a SDR image and not a linear/HDR image so that change should help hopefully.

Also this tutorial might be able to help you for how the AOV system works in Octane 2021: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cx-eLemdNxo

Thank you James for your time and also for your reply. I will take a look at the video in the link, I will also try to use the buffer type for sure! Then I will let you know if it changes anything.

Hello, so this option you describes here "Render Settings> Octane Renderer> Main> Buffer Type: LDR 8-bit" works for me :)
