Vertex map control between two materials

Hi,
This is rather easy to achieve with the standard render, but I cannot achieve with octane (still new to this amazing product) - As you can see I have a simple vertex map, and I would like to use fields to control it. My goal is to have a material that's normal and another that has an opacity set to '0' that way I can have parts of my geometry that 'disappears.'

There was a post on this forum that helped alot ( viewtopic.php?f=30&t=56648 ) however this effect is being controlled by Xpresso and works with y or x position ( very handy) however I need it to work with vertex map.

I would love if someone could send me a simple file that has the correct node connections to achieve what i'm looking for.

Thank you!

Hi,
have you tried to connect the gradient to the Opacity pin, instead of Diffuse?
At the moment your material seems completely transparent, so any node you connect to diffuse cannot be visible.

I have tried that of course, but it didn't work. It would be amazing if someone more experienced can provide a file of the working set-up, this is the last step I need to finish my project :P

I was able to find the solution in case it helps someone in the future:

I create an octane mix material, I made one material have '0 opacity' and I'm using a vertex map to control the float value between both materials.
