Looks like you have a driver issue. I would check the driver install and see if you have the latest version.

I might be wrong. I don't think 1.2 works with Maxwell+ GPUs ??

Ah, sorry, I know what the problem is. Unfortunately Octane version 1.2 does not support Maxwell cards (compute 5.0 and above I think). You will need to upgrade to version 2 to use the 970s.

hi all, just to confirm, Octane v1.2 is a legacy version (June 2013) it does not support Maxwell cards that we're first released in Feb 2014. Support for Maxwell cards in Octane were introduced in Octane v1.54 (May 2014). cheers...

Licences are pretty damned cost effective anyway; most (pc) enthusiasts spend way more on any single component (GPU, HDD, etc)..
