Hey everyone, so Octane Render 1.20 is refusing to render anything. I have the latest versions of both Visual Studio 2013 and Cuda and my GPU is Cuda capable (It's a GeForce GTX 750 Ti) The program recognizes that I have an available Cuda Device in preferences but then also says I have no CUDA GPU's Here is what it shows in the program.

Does anyone know how I can fix this problem so I can start working with the program? :)

Unfortunately I only have a student subscription and therefor am unable to use version 1.53 or anything except 1.20 for that matter. There must be some workaround so that I can run 1.20.

There's no workkaround for this as..1.2code is too old to support new hardware =) but!!!

You can get OctaneVr that is going to be free for three month at least - it should run on Your gpu perfectly =)

This is next to useless for me. Is there any possibility that a slightly new version of Octane Render will be made available free to students in the near future so individuals running modern hardware are able to use the program?

Ah, I was led to believe by the friends who steered me towards this program that Octane VR was geared specifically towards designing graphics for various forms of virtual reality goggles. Was I led astray in this xD

Well they said they will have a student upgrade option last year. Nothing happened.....not unexpected.

I am not sure how they are supposed to offer student licenses + commercial upgrades fairly. The current options are not updated in order to work for modern hardware and are just limited in regards to the plugins. Most of the plugins don’t have any student discounts or free options. And it’s really a shame since several 3D software have really cheap student versions but latest Octane + plugins have to be purchased at full price.

I guess this is where the 3rd party developer contracts seem to show their limits and disadvantages.
