Octane Render passes Workflow in Eyeon Fusion ( Surface ID )

Traditionally I'm using ExrTrader in LW and always get one Surface ID ( Material ID ) and one Object ID channel. When using a Bitmap in Fusion I enable Object ID en Material ID, Then with the Pick I just select the surface and get the Mask for that surface.

I’m not exactly sure on how to do the same with Octane’s material ID in Fusion ( See screen cap below ).

With Octane I get 4 channels for the Object ID and Surface ID in Fusion and they contain only color information and not an ID number that I can pick with the Bitmap.
- Am I missing out on something?
- How does the Material & Object ID work within a “LW Octane - Fusion“ pipeline?

Have a read through this thread. We don't have proper implementation of object/matt id yet but they have a plan.

Hi Geo,

Thanks for pointing this out. It sounds very promising, I hope we can have this functionality very soon.

Greets,
Carlo

Would be great if you can share your render buffer and fusion workflow in that thread.
