Lua World - Some questions...

Hello Amigos,
I read you and the task is difficult.
Thank you for those who are helping people who are not very gifted in programing.
When I see the incredible potential of this language, I think i should try.

A first question :
Is there a way to export an object with multiple material selections or i have to separate each part by material applied ?
If not, for what is this option in the alembic exporter (c4d) "polygonal selection" ?

Thank you.

hi niuq :)
currently, assigning materials to polygon selection is the best option and you don't need to run any script for correcting the imported geometry.
i attach a simple scene in .c4d, .abc and .ocs format so you can try by yourself.

Thank you Beppe.
Apart from some problems of refreshing or little crash, this method is the best.
Thank you very much.
Going to rename all parts of my cars with poly sélections.
If not, the name of the materials refers to pieces of mechanic... :o ...unintelligible

How you got "global coordinates" in your export c4d window, i don't have it.

But sometimes, strange things happen. (it's a bug or something i do wrong ?)
The same exercice with mats to poly sélections correctly named.

- A cube with poly sélections.
- Others objects like two spheres

Result : only one link for one material and only one sphere, where is the other sphere ?

Thank you.

hi niuq,
very interesting, i think that you have found a very strange bug, all is exported correctly only if the cube with multy polygon selection tags is hided before to be exported inside the complete scene
if the muly poly-selection cube is exported separately with the "selection only" option enabled, it's exported correctly as expected
try to export my c4d file as it is and you will see the crazy result :D
the purple sphere is not visible because it's a primitive inside a nurb, you can dessble the hypernurb or make editable the sphere ;)
