I have now spent a lot of time looking at the Nurb Surfaces issue with AutoCAD 2015/2016/2017, and it looks like a serious bug in the AutoCAD API. I have posted this on the AutoCAD API forum (http://forums.autodesk.com/t5/net/error-in-subdmesh-getobjectmesh/td-p/6275092) - so will hopefully get a response which will result in a resolution of this problem. Until then, I suggest users stay with AutoCAD 2014.

Regarding the MEP 2017 API - I have already been through this process before - but if you would like to send me the C:\Program Files\Autodesk\AutoCAD 2017\Help\amemgd.chm I can take a look to see if any geometry extraction methods have been added to the MEC API.
Hi Guillermo - I have had a good look through the MEC/AEC API's. There are some references for geometry in there, although it's quite unclear how they are used or if they are available to an AutoCAD plugin (the API doco does not actually describe the functions - it just lists them - so there is a degree of reverse engineering required). It would be a major undertaking to further assess if this could be done - and ultimately up to Otoy whether to embark on this work. I will put the option to them.

I have refreshed the installers at the top of this thread with:

3.0.10.14
- Compiled with Octane 3 alpha 10 (3.0.10). This means that Render Region is working again, plus many other changes (refer to the Octane Standalone 3 Alpha 10 thread for details)
- Username and password is now not entered or stored in the authentication panel
- Visible Environment pin added to the Rendertarget
- IMPORTANT: There is an issue where some Nurbs Surfaces polygons are not being provided by AutoCAD in a valid state. This problem was introduced in AutoCAD 2015. This has been reported to Autodesk, and they are currently investigating the problem.

If you need an AutoCAD 2014 installer because of the above issue, pls let me know.

Thanks

Paul

I have updated the installers at the top of this thread with:

3.0.20.15
- Compiled with Octane 3.0 (3.0.20)
- Fixed issue where the Reflections shadow pass was not working
- If you have ticked "Use offline licensing on this computer" when authenticating the plugin, you can now click the Deactive button on the OctaneLive tab to de-activate the plugin license
- "Int" nodes can no longer be converted to "Int Resolution" nodes

You will need an Octane 3.0 license in order to use this version of the plugin.
