I have two GTX 1070 cards in my system both perfectly working and recognized in the official Blender release in the preferences.
When i run the Octane for Blender version none are recognized even though I activate them in the preferences of Octane.

The issue is as shown in the picture that my second card Octane preferences window wouldn´t allow me to select it to activate it, so there must be something going on with this version because the official Blender release is able to recognize both cards.

Any ideas?

Hi, the free version is limited to one card.

Cheers, mib

Hi Mib, I'm already an Otoy's customer and this issue it's the same to me. I have 2 GTX 1080Ti, and 1 graphic card only it's functional. This is a bug, no?
Tks!

Hi, no bug, I guess you have to wait for the official Blender for Octane version for customers.
You don´t need a license for the Free one, therefor only one GPU.

Cheers, mib

I want to congratulate the developers. This is looking very promising.

I have only used Blender for a few days (10-year C4D veteran), but I was able to install it and get it running. I was able to assign materials, including some with displacement, add lights and render out. I've only played with it one hour so I can't comment too much more.

Again I repeat...I've only used Blender for 3 days...and I got this far in 1 hour with Blender Octane Render.

For those reading this thread please keep in mind:
-Blender 2.8 is new
-The version of Octane (2019) is even newer...still in testing.

I suspect since things are still being worked on by the devs that it doesn't make sense yet to provide a lot of training resources or videos. And they are churning long days and nights coding still.

I've already seen enough to know that this could be really cool. Perhaps I'll even do a getting started video myself, but need to play with it more first.

Hi again guys.

I cannot use the "bug reports" directory, and this is the only topic I can answer (I have no idea why)
Sometimes my octane (v20.0 v10 prime) gone mad and start endless rendering withous any result. Viewport looks well, but final render endless and only change noise pattern
I attached a gif where u can see it

At first, I was getting "127.0.0.1 error, somehow it stopped, but now Blender crashes immediately after pressing "render". Anyone? I have the final version of Blender 2.8

I'm missing something...

free tier only allows 1 GPU?

all builds that are RC* are for 2.79?

how do I get multiple GPU version of Octane running in Blender?

Is there a way to use multiple GPUs? I own the blender plugin and octane, but it seems that the download restricts me to one GPU.

thanks,
Dale

I can't even install, I try to run the OctaneServer.exe and it puts me that it can't continue because "nvcuda.dll was not found, that the problem can be solved by reinstalling the program, but I can't achieve anything

C'mon folks. READ.THE.THREAD.

It's been repeated TWENTY TIMES: the free version, which this thread makes available for download--and works on Blender 2.80--only supports one (1!) GPU.

I agree that the Octane folks could/should offer better information. The version in the other thread is still using 2.79. I suggest it's logical that in time an upcoming paid version (which of course supports more GPUs) will be based on Blender 2.8.

Give this a little time.

None of this is ready to use yet seriously, just for exploration.

My RTX card is used but also my CPU at 100% and it go to high temp. Why ? normally it's only GPU rendering. Bug ?
