Hi all,

After evaluating all the entries posted for our additional material competition,
we have selected the following winners.

The selection is based on number of materials submitted, quality, and use of procedural generation over images.

We will be having 3 winners based on the fact that we had less than 100 materials submitted.
The following 3 members have each won a free octane license:

1st Place: Matej (One free lifetime license)
2nd Place: Kubo (One free beta / v1.x license)
3rd Place: Baloom (One free beta / v1.x license)

You can use the license yourself or give it away to someone else.
Please send us an email to claim your free license, and indicate if you want it for yourself, or for someone else. (In that case, please let this 3rd party contact us via email to claim the license)

Congrats and thanks to everyone for contributing to this mini-competition :)

Yours,
Radiance

Nice, I'm now sure there's a blender user with at least 2 licenses. Time to add netword rendering to the export script :-)

Thanks to all participants for feeding the liveDB. A strong user community will definitely help octanerender being successfull, with more ressources to achieve their goals in time.

Cheers,
Lionel

Wow, thanks, really.
It was actually lots of fun doing it.
Congrats to Matej and Baloom and all the others there are great materials and I know there will be tons more.
I know who this license is going to, he's just starting in the "3D world", so Octane is perfect for him, easy to use yet powerful.
Now, just to push it some more ;) ....... could we have a tile procedural, please, pretty please?
Thanks to all.

Thanks! And congratulations to Kubo & Baloom

I'm also looking forward to the time when we will have even more power in the shader pipeline = more awesome materials

One note: the person who uploaded the material should be able to edit it - at least overwrite it with a newer version. (there are two materials from my part that needs to be deleted, because they are obsolete: "materials/non-organic/metal/Threadplate Dirty v1 b243" and "materials/non-organic/cloth/Camouflage Generic v2"

@Lionel, I still have only one comp., but you go on with your great work ;)

Hey,

Next week our new developer is starting and to get him going and trained we will have him add several new nodes, boolean logic nodes, dynamic switches, list box presets, and dynamic math operations.

...and tiles, did a hear tiles?
great news, more toys!!!! muhahahahhaha, I love new toys....
Also as a thank you I've made and uploaded this brick material based on one I've used in a recent project. You can play with mortar and brick colors and the noise on the brick. Hope you guys like it. Of course I've screwed up (I couldn't agree more with matej suggestion about being able to edit or remove it) at uploading and the first 2 versions brick wall v01 and brick runing v01 have to be deleted the third one is the one working. I didn't check the size of one of the textures and it was too big, it gave me an error, so when I corrected it it showed all three.
