We know that OctaneRender integrated plugin for SketchUp has been long awaited now and we are pleased to announce that it is almost there, having undergone extensive testing. It will be released shortly with OctaneRender 2.0, and will include the new Octane 2.0 features like Displacement Mapping, Network and Region rendering, Rounded Edges and much, much more.

This makes OctaneRender plugin one of the most advanced renderers for SketchUp out there providing you with productivity boost with most recent technologies of GPU rendering.

Great news! been waiting for this. I read elsewhere on the forums that mid-april was the anticipated release date; since you are calling it OctaneRender 2.0 for Sketchup does this mean we'll be able to purchase it this month without the need to upgrade to 2.0?

I am interested in purchasing an octane for sketchup+octane standalone bundle license as soon as it becomes available, but I'm cheap and wouldn't want to have to pay another €100+ in a couple months to keep using the 2.0 features.

Unfortunately not.
It is caled 2.0 for a reason -- Plugin is based on OctaneRender SDK 2.0 and will require you to have OctaneRender Standalone 2.0 as well.
