I can buy it now .

No, it's still in closed-beta. You will be able to purchase it when it is released as an open-beta - scheduled for late-Feb.

Waiting an extra 2 weeks for procedurals is fine by me :D Good job so far, you worked hard on it.

Thanks for updating us on when.

I'm starting to get to grips with the standalone version and using it on my first commercial project at the moment.

Hello beta team,

I was curious what channel property you plan to support for an alpha mask knocking out a texture on say, an hdri or physical sky background. I currently use dissolve in modo in order to achieve this, some use trans. or even stencil. Just making sure this gets a good going over.

Thank you for your time, hard work and look forward to using the new plug :-)

Hi Wolvy

The plugin works as Octane Standalone does (ie. pick either daylight or IBL for environment lighting - but not both). If you choose an IBL, it can have an alpha channel, but that is ignored. Instead you set the alpha of the background in the kernel settings. So this does not translate directly to the Modo environment system where you can mix various environment lighting sources.

In summary - what you can do in Octane Standalone you can do in the Modo plugin.

Is everything on time so we can expect the open beta some time this month? Can't wait to use it!

Yes, still on track. I am writing the manual and doing the "Getting Started" video now.
