Get it soon as you can....it was a bit of a stretch for me, too, but very glad I got it.

1. *Faster and much less expensive than a Titan card with no extra heat.

2. I didn't have to upgrade my main board or power supply.

3. much better workflow

4. animated materials.

Highly recommend it. ;)

BTW, is the final version going to be 120 Euros? All the others are 149~199 Euros.

*at least vs my GTX580 (see Tom's)...i.e. OR4B renders 3.6x faster than StandAlone/Plugin 1.19.
Getting OR4B AND replacing the 580 with Titan(s) would be best, but
out of my price range, and don't need that kind of speed.

You sure you used exactly the same scene with exactly the same settings (which should produce the exactly same output)? Because there is no reason for the integrated plugin to render any faster than standalone version. Unless you counted also the exporting/voxelizing process of the standalone workflow, which is then not a fair comparison.

The total time/frame is 3.6x faster for the same scene...the actual Octane render time is the same, but the time to prep & send it to Octane is less.

Yes, I did, but it IS fair...the bottom line is the whole
process takes a lot less time however you want to look at it. :)

JimStar explained it well earlier...see my post at the bottom of page9 of this thread. ;)

Have you tried rendering a scene you have with Octane/Plugin1.19 vs OR4B?

Maybe times will vary depending on the lighting and/or materials(?)...so far no one else has
posted any times...it would be good to have more data. :)

Well, yes, if you take into account the whole workflow process from export to finish, then the integrated plugin is of course faster. :)

I haven't tried it, mainly because the current OR4B (for Linux, at least) doesnt have everything implemented, so it's not possible to translate a scene exactly. Render times would certainly be different if shading / lighting setup is different, everything must be exactly the same.

But I wouldn't bother with it, because render speed should be the same in both cases.

Any news about the blender plugin demo version? I read "soon" some month ago I think. The software really caught my attention and I am ready buying it. But I would like to test it inside blender first.

Keep up the great work!

Any news about mac version? This was said on Aug 14. Today is Oct 22. I bought plugin because of the word "soon".

Hi, I'd like to test Octane Render with blender.

There is no Blender plugin demo yet. If I'll buy a license for Blender plugin, will it work together with Octane standalone demo?

Thx
