Hi all,

The OctaneRender for Revit integrated plug-in is nearing beta phase and will be released in a few weeks as an ongoing beta-program product.
We would like to set up a small group of experienced Revit users to help us test the new plugin product before we release it.

Please see this thread for more details on the progress of the Revit plugin which includes screenshots and videos: viewtopic.php?f=7&t=28935

We need 5 people who own a copy of Revit and who are experienced with its use, as well as being experienced OctaneRender users. These people
will need to be established/familiar forum users from our community and will have to sign a non-disclosure agreement prior to becoming part of the beta group.

Beta testing will take approximately 3 weeks. During this time, there will be frequent software updates (up to one per day), so we are looking for
beta testers who will be highly active testing the plugin during this period. Logging in to get the latest version once per week is unlikely to be frequent
enough to contribute meaningfully to the beta test process.

We are looking for beta testers who are willing to provide detailed bug/issue details, and who are fluent in English. A comprehensive knowledge of both
Octane and Revit is required.

If you think you have what it takes, and would like to participate, please reply to this thread and introduce yourself and your experience with Revit
and OctaneRender Standalone, preferrably by providing screenshots of previous projects. Please also describe your hardware specifications.

We will pick the 5 participants once we have enough applicants. In return for your help in testing the new product, you will receive a free plug-in license,
which you can keep when the beta testing period is over.

Cheers,

the OctaneRender team

Hi, it's nice to have Octane for Revit. Although I use Revit for 3-4 years I don't use Revit's Mental Ray.
I 've use Revit for many small to medium projects. I don't have much experience with Octane standalone because I use
Revit-> FBX-> MAX Design -> Octane instead. However I don't find something difficult to understand.
I prefered Max mostly because I use Forestpack Pro and because Revit's families are not nice to render (RPCs or furniture).
This is my last Revit-Max-Octane project

Some older projects Revit->Max-> Maxwell (mostly)

Been using Revit for a few months now and whilst not an expert in all aspects of document production, I do understand the fundamentaks and can easily move around i it. So I'd be quite happy to have a go at beta testing this plugin. Hopefully my experience with the alpha testing of the max plugin can be of assistance.

I'd be most happy to start testing an integrated plugin for Revit. I've been working with Revit since the 2008 release, and I currently work in a small firm that utilizes my experience in advanced modeling and rendering within Revit. I'm fluent in the illumination of scenes and creating custom materials for the renderings I do in the program.

Currently, I have two past projects where I could utilize the plugin. The first project is a marina bar created for fun three years ago to test my modeling skills and material settings. The other, recent, project is a 6-story AEC office. I've yet to complete exterior renderings of the office, but I have completed renderings of the interior using Autodesk's Cloud rendering services.

In regards to projects where I have used Octane for renderings, I have one recent rendering that was not completed for a client. It was modeled in SketchUp with most materials replaced in Octane.

Thank you all for your interest in participating in the beta tests for the Revit plugin. We are pleased to have found enough testers for this plugin and applications are now closed.

Best regards,
