Yes it looks fantastic - and the Map lighting is wow.

But i am a mac user and normaly export Figures with fbx to cinema 4d
is not so comfortable and doesn look so real like in octane.

so i allready waiting for the integrated Plugin for Cinema 4d Mac osx
and now again for Daz - are we mac user 2. class? ;-)
Or do you not bring out a Daz mac Version?

Do you know how much is the count for mac and PC user in %?

cheers carsten

We have success...Octane Render is now running is Daz Studeo
good to know; the installer uses a virtual machine in order to be a self contained .exe for a more simple program, that unpacks all the stuff from a virtual file system. it makes it also easier possible to to database updates or even scene file updates in the future, if an update would require such things. might look suspicious to some av engines if a downloaded file tries to start a virtual machine...

don't kown that count, but will ask daz if they have numbers.

it is just a resource thing. one os = much time, 2 os'es = much more time. usually. even if the code itself is mostly portable (and it was actually written with portability in mind), it is the tiny details that cost much time. you usually spend 50% of development time for testing and corrections and bug hunting, and this needed time nearly doubles doing stuff for mac and windows. but if things have settled for one os - feature wise and stability wise - it will be easier to port it later; don't expect that to happen pretty soon though.

ps: since it is not possible to virtualize such a system i'd also need to buy a mac for that - and need a 2nd work desk ;)

thank you for this quick answer - but coul not realy understand the last sentence

do you made a mac version but you do not know when?
or do you think you will never made a mac version - because you don't have a mac.

i was more joking about needing more space. currently i just don't know when a mac port development will start. it should not take as long to get it done as the initial windows version did, but don't expect to see this happen within a few weeks only - sorry!
