Do you have supported nvidia card? Also any wrong install can cause this. And some plugins can cause.

Hey Aoktar,

maybe a stupid question, but is it possible to run the plugin with a Octane standalone demo render and no login credentials? Basically as a demo, without purchasing the plugin or Octane standalone renderer? We downloaded the standalone version demo and the plugin for cinema demo and installed it. Everything starts up, but when we open the plugin we only get a black render window. If we create a shader the plugin and maxon crashes.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Aoktar,

thank you so much for the MAC testversion.

I just wanted to try it, but my Quadro4000 doesn´t show up in the device list, though I´ve updated the CUDA driver to the current Version.

In the standalone Demo Version the Quadro shows up and works...

Any idea?

EDIT: Problem solved by buying the plugin. Now everything works fine. Keep up your excellent work!!!

I asked about how to buy the plugin but ... , there is no option to purchase the bundle for C4D Mac ... for now.
I tried the plugin with the standalone demo but it asks for a live account given when you buy it ...
is that correct ? when can we purchase the bundle ?

If you buy OctaneRender and/or one of their plugin plugins you can use it on all platforms that are currently supported. Ahmet just released a first commercial version of the plugin for Mac, so you should be able to use it on Mac OS X, too now. He is also working on an update of the demo version which will be available for Mac, too.

I have startup issues in Cinema4D when I update to c4dOctane-R14-B0.50, going back to Octane-for-C4D-beta-0.3.4-R14 resolves the issue. The issue is that when Cinema4D loads the plugin (I see only the splash screen) it does crash.

FIXED it:
I did forget to update the files in the main c4d foder, after doing so the crash did not happen again
