Ok so finally I saw the presentation on my pc - couldnt get it to stream on my tablet for some reason. I have to say it was quite good. A lot of words spoken in 30 mins. :P Pity we only get these intention updates once a year. ;)
So the good news for Blender users among the other coming attractions is the networked rendering capability although by the sounds of it its limited to 1 server. 8 gpu spread around would have been nice. 8-)
I see a couple of Blender coders are working on network rendering for Cycles too.....
I gather then almost none of the frequently user requested capability is being considered now for Octane v1 save for some uv enhancements. As much as I like to see Brigade etc. moving along and the hologram stuff is cool I kinda wish more emphasis was being placed on attending to the basics rather than leveraging the technology out. Although I wont be popular for saying so I do wonder how much time Otoy guys are spending on the render engine itself vs. the delivery sytem.
I guess the render community might just see the priorities differently from the wider interests of the company.
Anyway, thanks for the update. :geek:

Just one question

3ds max is the app that is showing with the cloud edition...

Will cinema 4d or modo be able to use the cloud too?

Sorry for the late answer .
Alembic is the newest and high end intercheangeable file format, like OBJ or FBX
Those formats make easier to export and import files created in other softwares , like
for example, beetween Lightwave and 3ds Max or Softimage and Maya.
It is very important to be aware of this possibility.
Alembic can also support animation cache files , like FBX does but improved .

WOW THIS IS AMAZING! First this incredible cloud service ($1 per GPU per hour which is extremely cheap compared to CPU renderfarms) and now Brigade. Eat your heart out Unreal Engine 4, 5, 6... Nothing beats path tracing.

I'm very glad with the complex emitter speed improvement by 400%. I have a lot of scenes with many small emitters. So rendering in the cloud with e.g. 60 GPUs and 400% speed improvement feels like 240 GPUs today... *wow*.

And the 12GB onboard GPU memory remark makes the way free for complex geometry which has displacement/tessellation baked inside.

@rushes / Will cinema 4d or modo be able to use the cloud too? >> Yes, Jules Urbach said that all plugins/programs can use the cloud rendering service.
