Hi All

An update on progress.....99% of the coding is done, and we are right now fine tuning some of the workflow. The plugin has some very nice features, such as a mode for scene navigation via the OctaneRender Viewport (and save the new position back to the Revit camera), and saving a rendertarget for each Revit View. You can also export rendertarget settings, so you can effectively have presets for particular sunlight, or image based lighting settings, or draft, normal, high preset for kernel settings. The aim is to have a "one click" solution for rendering your Revit scenes in Octane (although for interior scenes you might want to tweak the light emitters).

So in summary, I think users will be extremely happy!

I would expect a short, but intense, beta testing programme to commence shortly.

wonder how much it will cost..

I would envisage that it would be priced along similar lines to the other plugins currently available.

whats the status on this plugin? I've got an itchy trigger finger.

Status Report.....

1) Sunstudy and walkthrough animations are complete
2) Material conversion has been tuned (so Revit illumination materials are converting to Octane emitters, glass materials to specular etc)
3) Texturemaps are mapping correctly from Revit materials to Octane material for the standard Revit 2012 and 2013 materials
4) Proxy Geometry can now to included in the scene and renderer. For example, load an RPC tree, then assign it to an OBJ file, and the obj file gets loaded and replaces the RPC tree when you render in Octane. You can even edit the Octane materials of the obj file
5) Almost all UV mapping issues are fixed
6) Linked files are now included in the Octane scene that is rendered
7) Rendering of the ArchVision RPC object is not currently supported but planned

So the release of the plugin is behind schedule, but the delay has been well worth it to make it more complete.
