OCM files directly can be used. Also now will have all octane texture nodes in material editor and you can use as octane.

I would like to node editor in material looked something like the attached picture.
If you do node editor, I can draw some designs. I think a lot of designers will join and will offer ideas!

Hope - translate.google - normally translated my words :)

it's possible a beta in a month i hope
prices are similar other plugins, beta is half of a final release.

Will it work in 11.5? I ask because a C4D upgrade is very pricy and Octane has most of the later enhancements.

There are some screens to show progress. You can see the Octane Material Shader. that's wip. There is some limitations in gui of C4D, i suppose.
At least my knowledge is that about gui of c4d. I decided to make material system as you see. I'm doing a material has glossy, diffuse, specular octane materials. With a choice box we can change type of material. For easy usage and because of limitations, i do a style for texture nodes. For diffuse, specular, roughness etc. we use color+float+shader link together. if there is not a texture, we activated color or float value. if not we use texture nodes.
In addition you see some settings panels. that's ok mostly. Also we have a octane cameratag with camera parameters. i'm thinking to add CameraImager parameters to this tag. It will be more proper for animations. And i do animation render system with a videopost tag. And we have planned a lighttag.

That's all now. If you have any comments or suggestions, i wish to hear.

wow, thanks for sharing :)
it would be super nice if we could do render region, is it possible or the option is going to disappear?
very confortable the list of the camera preset with all included, maybe just a line for separating agfa, kodak and misc ;)
