An example video of what can be achieved with the Octane for Maya plug-in:
I tried to play with camera settings, and it make some result. But, anyway, it looks like you know what. range of numbers - gigantic, i have no idea how to make standart camera settings. And what`s wrong with light? ? Plus - please remove this number range, make it smaller. it is inconvenient for work with it, you want to set to 100, but you are setting 1000. Like this. ( ps - you can set "100" with shift pressed, but only in channel box, not attrib editor)

No I meant install locally first, then copy the files onto an arbitrary location (a server) and then uninstall the local installation. Finally run Maya and load the Octane plug-in from the arbitrary location.
We have our studio set up like this for all software that supports it. This helps when maintaining a large number of machines and when switching back and forth between versions.
