Autofocus is the same as in the standalone version. Things which are in the center of the screen are in focus.
But because the focal depth is a parameter, you can simply plug in a shader where you can select an object which should be in focus, also a null with can be animated...

Must first integrate the background system like texture and daylight and then i think i will start the beta...

Woaw! I can't wait to set the focal depth inside Soft.. This will be sooo fun to play with :) Doing this now with Soft->Octane standalone is nice, but you need to do ALOT of test renders for the full sequence, so you dont end up with a focus that looks completely off (since the DOF range is very tricky to control when the focus gets very close to the camera, I've ended up with alot of ruined night renders when suddenly everything is out of focus... This will be awesome :)..)..

Hello Face,
I would like to say (well in bad french) that :

I know a lot of people are impatient now, but a well implemented product is the key.
Maybe your excellent work on this new rendering pipeline for SI (from the render region to the passes, and even details like overriding) alone will change the future of Softimage, as a global product for modeling, animating AND rendering (which is it's weakness for now I think).
Thank you for the accuracy of your work, the way you prioritize features needed in a production environnent is really good I think.

Best regards.
Christophe
