I think its great that you can re-run the conversion for only selected mats. I know I'll end up using that a lot.

Also from the original post "even later we want to add the ability to push some specially prepared mesh light objects directly from the plugin into the scene (lets say, add a light bulb, add a flashlight as parent to a camera, add a soft box, add a spotlight, ...)"

It would be nice to see added eventually. This is a feature that reality offers and I ended up using it a lot because it was useful to have some prefab pieces that you can work with. And while it may be a relatively small thing, it will still be a comparison point for potential buyers.

I would buy this the moment it becomes available. If for no other reason, for the utility in how it groups textures. I am eagerly awaiting release or information about it's release. Thank you for heading into the plug-in direction in the fashion you described!

It is a magnificent render plugin for Daz Studio!
Tell me please, Octane Render will make the atmosphere for example fog?

howdy all,
just wondering between the poser plugin and daz studio plugin which one will give the user the best control? is one a nicer implementation then the other?

I'm also waiting for this plugin, hopefully this will come out with a sale, $270 euros is a bit steep for a plugin even one as fantastic as this one.

hi all!

i aplogize for a few weeks lack of updates, but i needed to cut my phone and internet lines, to focus on resolving some show stopper instabilities. we had a major update to the closed beta last weekend (the first one in two months btw), and it looks good so far. 'am now pushing fixes every 2-3 days until done. no more big scale changes like we had in the past months (like the new geometry system, engine updates to current octane release state, etc.), just resolving ~smaller issues.

@rloncohen: imo the two plugs are hard to compare, apart from that both use octane to render ;) ui and workflow is as different as daz studio and poser are different, since both try to make best use of how the host works. and of course i can't judge one over the other; paul did some great work with the poser plugin - and fast - i'm a good amount slower (much to my regret), but nonetheless it will be a great leap forward if you like or need to use octane with daz studio.

so regarding the current development state, i'd say the sun is rising, slowly, but rising... just like that:
