What would be our options if we have a blender-plugin animation and would need to render it with the amazon AMI?

Do we have to use an exporter and reset the materials in the standalone?
If we bought 5 licences would we be able to use 5 instances that render directly in blender through the plugin?

.. would it be possible to try it without buying the licences? because once octane cloud edition is released, the several blender plugin licenses would be useless.

Good point, and at the same time besides the point !and I lack money for the expensive upgrades too.
Took me years to have all those renderers.
No Titan, yet But I've just purchased a GTX 780 TI and it is really great, good enough for me.

I tried the Octane Cloud , just to find out Autodesk 3ds max and like many discover octane render is not even there, took me a minute,
and I received this lovely letter, for this stupid minute , you seem a wealthy Guy to me, Go for it !!
and receive that for only try it, for few minutes:
Greetings from Amazon Web Services,
This e-mail confirms that your latest billing statement, for the account ending in ****1318, is available on the AWS web site. Your account will be charged the following:

Total: $64.93[/i]

Happy cloud everyone !!

The OTOY AMIs we provided in the marketplace are completely free, the only costs are from Amazon, and those can be very small if used correctly.

If you are racking up charges on AWS that you haven't planned on, then I suggest you contact JAX (in our forums) about getting on the user facing service beta, which hides the complexity of the AWS billing and setup. There you can access the cloud instances from OTOY.com and have more control over the costs setup.

We are soliciting feedback through the beta before we roll it live to everyone.

yes,I know.
they are Amazon costs, (you won't see any complaint from me here , because I am using octane on the cloud )
and I blame my own lack of experience for those.
However, it is important to give feedback to avoid this, as there are maybe, other people using it not very wisely like me, I think.
Thank you to advise me , I'll follow the steps and contact Jax.

Goldorak wrote:We've been waiting on two things:

1) Launch of the Amazon G2 instances i(which happened in November)

2) Final release of Octane 1.5 (shipping within a week), with ORBX package import/export supported in SA and plug-ins. The ORBX packages are required to effectively add cloud rendering to the Octane ecosystem.

Once Octane 1.5 is out the door, we'll roll out more tools to leverage Octane cloud rendering (both live and offline) from both the SA, plug-ins and EC2 AMIs.

With Octane 1.5 available for some time now, is there any news on this?

2.0 was released and the Max plugin , Hoping Octane Cloud is on the way somehow.
I am rendering a matchmoved 290 frames ORBX file , Interior room for Production.
it will take about 280 hours of rendering on my GTX 780 ti !!!
Any hope for me ? can't afford 10 Titans !

Yes. Octane 2.0 had to ship first. We also concurrently updated the ORBX package format for 1.55. We've got devs focused exclusively on Cloud Edition now. Expect some announcements in the coming months, and a wider 2.0 cloud beta for West Coast US users within that time frame, if all goes as planned.

Those are Great News.
Hope everything runs smoothly, according to plans !
Good to know the team is working on it , All he best for the Devs.
We all know this can't be an easy task.
Our work will boost and , All the Octane Render users will be grateful, especially if They are,
like me, sticking around since Beta times.

Is the cost calculated by the estimated render?
