Inventor 2012 installation problem

Hi,

I did purchase beta plug-in for Inventor, and after reading manual I have installed it on my machine as recommended. Everything went smooth however as it is mentioned in manual, the new icon with Ocatne should appear in tools, but there is nothing. Even after checking in Ad-inn manager there is nothing on the list. I am using Windows and Inventor 2012 64bit with quad core Xeon and Nvidia Quadro 600 + Octane renderer plugin 1.20a.

Regards
Tomasz

Hi Tomasz

Are you are to tell me which Nvidia driver version you have loaded pls? Anything prior to about 302 has the potential to stop the plugin from loading into Inventor.

I just noticed you are on 2012. There is a misprint on the product page (which will be rectified asap) indicating it's for 2012/2013, but the current version of the plugin has in fact been compiled and packaged for Inventor 2013 and 2014. I suspect it will also run without issue on Inventor 2012, but I need to confirm this first.

Sorry for the inconvenience - I will download Inventor 2012 now and get back to you with the status.

I am using currently 320.0 driver, so it should be fine. If this plug-in doesn't work with Inventor 2012 I will be very disappointed, hence I did check manual prior to buying plug-in, and 2012 was clearly specified there :(

Cheers

Hi Tomasz

I have looked into this is quite some detail, and unfortunately due to Inventor 2012 using .NET 3.5 and a different addin load system, providing a 2012 version of OctaneRender for Inventor is not possible. It is only compatible with Inventor 2013 and 2014. Someone from Otoy will be in contact with you.
