So denoiser in PR14 on M1 does not work right? Or is there some kind of trick I don't know about? It does not crash it simply cannot finish rendering... Without denoiser it renders about two minutes one frame, with denoiser turned on my patience ended after twenty minutes when renderer still hadn't finished rendering. Any suggestions?

M1 chip is completely different from previous CPUs, and does not have the necessary AVX2 instructions for performing AI Denoiser, and Denoised passes.
So AI Denoiser, and denoised passes must to be disabled, or the render never finishes.

Alternatively, you can try with Hot pixel removal slider in Camera Imager node, but avoid to go under 0.65, and consider that it is distructive, so you can have artifacts.

Another option is to try with internal C4D Denoiser in Picture Viewer, but it is not like AI Denoiser:

I finally upgrades my Intel iMac Pro to Monterey and fortunately everything stil works great with my RX6900 XT egpu.
So I am now using PR14 and at first it looked rock solid, but now I get crashes when working in the node editor. PR11 did also gave me these crashes so I hoped this was over now. Will PR14 be the last version for Intel?

thanks, Olav

We still need to run in Rosetta mode.
2022.1-XB2 is out with several fixes, but not native for M1 yet:

The native M1 version should arrive with next XB3 update.

Beppe,

Is that 2022.1-XB2 version going to have a C4D Mac Plugin? Or are you waiting for XB3?

If you are waiting for the release of XB3, do you know the ballpark timeline for that release?

I have a job that could use a bunch of the fixes in it.

Thank you,
Dan

Hi Dan,
yes, for C4D-OctaneX native plugin we need to wait for the next 2022.1-XB3 version.
Difficult to give an ETA, it could take from four to eight weeks or even more, but since it will be the first alpha version for M1 native plugin, my suggestion is to avoid to use it in production, the generated files could be unusable with future stable version.

ciao,
Beppe

Dear Beppe,
does it means, the next OctaneX 2022 release will be only working on M1/M2 and not with AMD GPUs??

Alternatively, denoising can be done in post (Nuke, Fusion or else) using native or (usually) third party denoisers.
