Photogrammetry with captured roughness/reflection

Hey there,

i build myself a photogrammetry rig which let me capture a diffuse and a specularmap. I also tried to seperate a SSS Map from the diffuse texture.

The Models were made from 1356 Images focus stacked to 226 sharp images and then processed in Agisoft Photoscan with Ultra High settings. Over 10 hours of capturing and 5 hours of postproduction per Model. HeliconFocus, Agisoft Photoscan, Photoshop and Modo 12 and Octane Render for Modo were used.

Let me know what you think and what could be improved.

Thanks in advance

Thank you very much! Since the rig is now fully functional i will continue to scan objects and post them here. If you have suggestions what to scan please let me know.

NIce work - do you plan on selling them?

Looks great have you tried capture reality? Much quicker creating scans especially if you have a good GPU, we've found the quality to be better too with less fixing in zbrush.

Thank you both! Yes, i am going to sell them, but i want to do some testing first to make sure they are flawless.

I didn't tried capture reality yet. In my opinion with shadow and reflection free high resolution images photoscan is good and fast enough plus it is much more affordable. But i will try the demo to see if it is really that better and worth the price :)

Purchase it via steam, you get 3 months I think for a very low price!

Ho do you generate the specular maps ?
Is it a specific setting when you take the photos or does photoscan generate them for you ?
Or do uou generate them in the end by selecting some specific color range and attribute them some different values ?

Photoscan can't generate those maps. You also can't extract them from the diffuse texture. You have to capture additional photos with special lighting.

A long time passed by while i build a 3D Scanning rig. Here are the first results:
