Hi guys,

Fairly new to 3D and Octane and am currently working on this piece using one of threedscans models.

I'm trying to replicate an alien-like spotlight using volumetric lighting.

At the moment the light is just shining through a cylindrical hole above the subject, and the light is cut off at the sides by a black diffused material plane either side of the head.
Unfortunately this creates a sharp edge on the lighting. The light is much more natural with no planes as it tapers out and blurs on the edges, however the client wants it straight down.

Is there any other way to emulate this effect but without the planes?

Appreciate any suggestions and criticism.

Thanks.
