Discoball scene

I'm trying to create a simple discoball, with reflections on the wall with one sharp spot light. Sounds pretty simple but I don't know how to achieve that ;-(

This is the look I'm trying to create:
(Discoball, spotlight & reflections on the wall)

This is my current test scene:

My Render Settings:

Metalic material for the ball:

My questions are:
- How to create a sharp spotlight with octane. (currently it's only a plane with a blackbody emission which gives light to the whole scene, but I wont it only on the discoball)
- How to make the reflections/caustic much more visible in the scene?
- In general, what settings should be changed? What should I do different?

The scene can be downloaded here:

Thanks for your help!

hi!
rendertimes get quite slow, PMC is the way to go.
used an ies spot light, which renders out slower but gives a good lighting definition!

I think the trick is to decrease the emitters` size, concentrate the lightsource, and just wait. First few samples nothing clears out, but after a while the reflections become visible. Perhaps to get even more out of it you could try an small plane emitter inside a open tube, that as well generates a nice concentrated beam of light.

GI clamp on 1000 leaves out most hotpixels, and adjusting the gamma brings out the reflections.

Let this one render out overnight to 32k samples, interesting scene!

AMAZING!

Exactly what I was looking for. Thank you so much for your help!
I definitely have to learn how to use these ies lights as I'm not at all familiar with it, but they seem very powerful ;-)

Glad to help out! It`s just a standard .IES, you could try a distribution emitter as well.
greets!

Hi, is there a way to get a IES to mimic a disco ball to cut on render times? Cheers!
