Archicad workflow setup & tree render issue

Hi All,

Big thanks to the developer/s of this plugin, it is great, and am loving the Octane engine.

A few questions as I try to set this up to work efficiently:

- See attached two images, one of an orbx tree in standalone Vs the same tree as a proxy in Archicad plugin; same material, lighting settings (even adjusting lighting), and the tree looks terrible in the Archicad version... any thoughts?

- Would the correct way to make the plugin rendering setup drag and drop (as close as say twinmotion/lumion style as possible) be to start an Archicad 'asset library' file with all assets (trees, rocks, grass etc.) lined up attached to objects as proxies (and all materials, texture etc. setup correctly); then just copy objects to project file as needed?

- Does anyone have any examples of nice renders produced in the Archicad Octane Plugin? Most images that I have found seem to made in Cinema 4D with Octane (looks much easier to add trees, vegetation, etc.?)...

Any help would be great!
Thanks

Unsure. However try adjusting Kernel->Ray Epsilon. ArchiCAD generates both large and small polygons, so it is sometimes difficult to get the right value for the Ray Epsilon. Also - the Standalone render looks like it has a Texture Environment, whereas the ArchiCAD render potentially has a Daylight environment which might be causing more shadows.

I think you can already do this to an extent with GDL objects. Check https://docs.otoy.com/ArchiCADH/ArchiCADPluginManual.htm#ArchiCAD/GeometryProxiesandInstancing.htm for details.
