OSL Textures

Hi

I have had a couple of requests to implement the Octane OSL Texture node into the ArchiCAD plugin. I have put considerable time into trying to do this, however the OSL Texture node requires saving a potentially large, variable length, text string (being the OSL code) to the .pln/.pla file. Whilst saving strings to the .pln/.pla file is supported by the ArchiCAD API, the current plugin codebase does not support this, so a new method of saving Octane information to the ArchiCAD scene would need to be implemented.

Given the time and testing (by both me and plugin users) that would be required to get such a major change stable, and the risks associated with changing the way Octane data is saved to .pla/.pln files, and the limited benefit of the OSL Texture to ArchiCAD users, I have decided to defer implemention this feature.

Thanks

Paul
