This is the recommended thread for downloading, and posting any questions, suggestions or support queries for OctaneRender for ArchiCAD TEST and STABLE releases.

ArchiCAD Version
This version of the plugin runs on ArchiCAD 20, 21 and 22 - 64 bit Windows (Vista, 7, 8 and 10).

To use this version, you need a GPU of compute model 3.0 or higher. Support for Fermi GPUs (like GTX 4xx and 5xx) has been dropped. Also make sure you use a driver of version 417 or higher and if you are working on Mac OS that have a CUDA driver installed that supports at least CUDA 9.1.

Network Rendering
For Network Rendering, you must use the Octane slave release from the Octane Standalone installer which matches the exact Octane version of the plugin you are using. This version matches OctaneRender Standalone 4.00.

Support Issues
If you have a support issue, pls provide the following information:
- Operating System (ie. Win XP, Vista, 7, 8)
- 32 or 64 bit
- Amount of RAM
- Graphics Card(s) - model (ie. GTX 580, 3GB)
- Nvidia driver version
- ArchiCAD version (ArchiCAD -> Help -> License Information -> Version and Build Number
- OctaneRender for ArchiCAD version (ie. 1.02a)
- In the unlikely event of a crash, pls provide the dump report from the C:\Users\[username]\Graphisoft\BugReporting-[version] folder (on Win 7). Either post or email (to "paul at physicalc-software.com") the "ArchiCAD-XXXXXX-FATAL.RPT" file from this folder.

Previous STABLE build (Octane 2018.1.0)

Release Notes

2018.1.3.93 (27-May-2019)
- Compiled with Octane 2018.1.3

2018.1.0.93 (19-Mar-2019)
- Compiled with Octane 2018.1

2018.1.0.92 (05-Mar-2019)
- Compiled with Octane 2018.1 RC4
- Implements the new Render Passes Cryptomatte functions from Octane 2018.1. Since all geometry in the ArchiCAD scene is loaded into a single Octane Mesh node, some of the Crypto "Object" passes will not work (except for Proxies)
- Does not implement the new Vectron, Volumetric Spotlight or Vertex Attributes from Octane 2018.1. Vectrons can be used by loading an ORBX file containing a Vectron node.
- The "Import from LiveDb/LocalDB - EXPERIMENTAL" Material tab option is back, and hopefully all prior issues reported with this functionality will now be resolved
- Added option in the Configuration screen to set the LocalDb folder

Hi - I could not reproduce this issue. Are you using the Enterprise or Studio version? Which version of ArchiCAD?

Hi Paul,

there appears to be an issue with the Name of the Materials that gets displayed in the Local DB (Experimental) if the Material ORBX gets edited in Octane Standalone after the initial creation.
Looking at the image below you can see that the materials I have been editing in Standalone get displayed with the name "Project Settings".

Hi Dan. I could not reproduce this error. Are you able to confirm that it happens with Octane Standalone 2019.1 RC5, and if it does, provide screenshots of the steps you are taking that result in the error.

Thanks

Hi Paul,

the issue, for me, is independent of the version of Octane being used.
I've tired it on a couple of different PC's here in the office and they all exhibit the same issues, whether using AC21, AC22, Octane 2018.1 or Octane 2019.1 (V3 or V5).
I'm also still having the issue of not being able to write different material names for exporting .orbx from the AC plug in.

Just to eliminate a few variables I've also tried to do a complete 'new and reset' of ArchiCAD 22 and start a new project from the AC22 template file, including making a fresh local copy of the AC library (not the lcf).

In the screen shot below I've done a full AC new and reset, created the project from the AC template, saved out a local copy of the Library, reset the Octane settings, made a local copy of the LocalDB (not on the network) and then created a new ORBX material in Octane Standalone 2019.1 V5, which is a simple white diffuse material.

About the only other thing I could try would be to have a go at it at home just to try and completely eliminate and office/network related issues.

Cheers, Dan.

Thanks Dan. I am still unclear on the exact workflow you are using to do this, and if the ArchiCAD plugin is related. Does the problem occur if you create the material in Standalone, and then click the refresh button on the LocalDb in Standalone? If so, then this is an Octane Standalone issue, which you would need to report in the Octane Standalone thread.

Hi Paul,

yes, you are correct, it appears that any LocalDB Material ORBX files edited or created in Octane Standalone end up with the display name "Project Settings".
It's a bit ironic that Material Orbx files created from the AC plug in will at least inherit the ArchiCAD material for the display name.
Anyway, will post in the SA thread.

Thanks for your help.

Cheers, Dan.
