Can't stop animation rendering...

Hey Paul,

I can't stop animation rendering in the version 2.24.2.55 (in 2.24.1.53 it worked).
Neither clicking in the viewport nor the red button with the X (on the bottom) work.
Archicad is also not going "active"/to the foreground (via Alt-Tab e.g.) at all.
Only way to stop rendering is killing the task ;)

Any idea?

Greetings,
Artur

Hi Artur - are you referring to rendering in the Viewport, or in the ArchiCAD Photorenderer?

Don't exactly know what you mean with 'Archicad Photorenderer'...

I try to be more precise;
In the 'photorealistic settings' -> Engine: 'OctaneRender Renderer'.
Then I open the Archicad 3D Viewport, the Octane plugin and its rendering viewport.
Next: Menue Documentation -> Rendering, Animation -> Animation.
Source: Photorendering Window ... and 'save'.

The rendering of the frames starts (and works super, of course) but it's not
possible to stop the Plugin now, so I have to wait till the last frame or kill Archicad...

Better? ;)

Do you still have a copy of AC17 or 18 that you could test this with to identify if it's an issue introduces in AC19 pls? I'll also take a look at why this is happening in the next day or two.

I have AC18 and I checked 2.24.2.55 and some earlier versions, stopping works by clicking the 'AC-button';

About AC19 I gave you some bad information, sorry; "in 2.24.1.53 it worked" is wrong! It was the 2.23.2.51 where stopping properly woked.
Unfortunately it seem impossible to reinstall 2.23.2.51 in AC19 again, AC says the Addon is too old (analogue to Jeroen's post from 14th August).

That's how AC19 looks like for me btw (rendering screen always switching full screen);

Hi Artur - when I render a sun study/flythru on AC19, I get the same little progress indicator that you are getting - and if I click on it the render aborts. I also noticed that the abort option does not seem to be available on the first frame - it pops up after the first frame.

Confimring that absolutely for AC18!

In AC19; no progress indicator like this one in AC18 (even not after 500 frames ;) ), it's moved to the bottom of the rendering window now + possibility to stop renderings/updateing of windows by clicking into it (No change when work environment is set to default, too).

As I understand, AC19 is staying in the background when I switch to another program an then back again. Only way to see what AC19 is "doing" is to minimize all other windows then.
I'm running a test using the CineRender right now; I can toggle x-times between AC19 and Firefox and stop rendering at any moment - 'cause AC19 is just getting into foreground...

Artur

Thanks Artur - you are right on the AC19 info. I appears for me that there is a small time that you CAN press esc, between frames - so I was able to cancel an animation when a frame finished rendering, but I was not able to cancel rendering a long frame. I have emailed Graphisoft to find out how to get around this.

...I'm sure it work for me, too - if I only could get AC19 'active' ;)
Anyway, thank you for dealing with the problem :D

Hi Paul,

It is a bit of the same with Rendering the ArchiCAd Publisher.. it would be nice to stop this BatchRender, but esc does not stop it.. and I am unable to click these buttons.
When having a lot of renders to do and find out you need to adjust.. it can be frustraing having started and not being able to stop.
Probably nothing you an do about this, but wanted to check it to be sure.

greetz,
