I think this can be explained... when having alpha on.. you will not see the color of the background through the glass, but oly reflections ikn glass an dlight color shining on glass.
When having alpha off, you will also see the background color, so therefor it is different for on and off, and it should be.
Or is there no background behind the glass that confirms this explanation?

I haven't read this whole thread (yet) - but keep in mind there is the Affect Alpha pin on Specular material to determine if the clearness of the surface is represented as alpha or not.

Also, Octane 2.23 (re-)adds the "Keep Environment" pins to the Kernels.
