It's getting better and better
Thanks & many greetings!

Hi Artur - this is not a simple change. And if I make this change, then there is no possibility of loading scenes saved after this mod with plugin versions prior to the mod. So it's something I would rather do at a major release (like Octane 2.2 or Octane 3.0).Paul, would it be possible to raise up the maximum chars for material names?
I'm getting some chaos right now with material names because I have to shorten them...and some others have to work with them, too.
(they have to have some "special code" + a bit description because very light nuances make the difference between them)
Hope it's not a bigger problem with kind of Octane-restrictions or so...

Perhaps you have a different rendertarget set in the View combo box in the Photorender settings?Hi Paul - for me, number of samples is incorrectly reported in progress indicator dialog (or my selection is actually being ignored or overridden by Octane somehow). If I select 800 max samples in kernel, render dialog reports the total samples as 300.

There should be a view (or the "default rendertarget") in the "View Rendertarget" combobox in the Photorendering Settings dialog. If you click on that combobox are their any rendertargets listed?Hi Paul, you are very likely correct. Unfortunately, with either flythroughs or stills, there is no render target displayed in photorender settings dialog, even when the selected saved view does have a rendertarget, so no easy way to know. Is this an API issue?
I tidied up some issues with this one or two releases ago, potentially after you first experienced this issue. May I suggest opening the plugin, then opening the Photorenderer Settings and select a View from the rendertarget combo box - and the problem should be resolved. If the rendertarget combobox in the Photorenderer Settings is blank (with the latest version of the plugin) - let me know, and I will investigate why this might be.Hi Paul. Sorry for slow reply. No, there were no render targets showing in photorender settings dialog - that combobox just blank.
I'm not aware of anything which would be slowing down load times. Do you have any statistics you can provide pls (load time for old version verses new version of the plugin?). Also - are you using displacement maps? Are you referring to load times rendering animation/flythru's or a single frame? Is the increase in load time for opening the Viewport or rendering in the Photorenderer? The scene loading times increase considerably with each new update!
With this latest build it's almost quicker to obtain a usable render than to wait for the whole thing to even open up the viewport!
I am talking about geometry heavy scenes, but I don't remember loading times were an issue before v2.11
