It looks like it is pasting the obj name and material name together:
OBJ name = cgaxis_models_34_01.obj
in MTl the newmtl = cgaxis_models_34_01_01

And as you can see, it has "_"in the name...
so tat is the problem? But only the "_" in the name of the OBJ and of the material itself?

Hi Jeroen - the plugin adds "proxy_" to the front of the material name (you can see this when you export to Standalone) - this is to differentiate proxy to normal materials. So proxy material names have the limit set to 41 characters. I will correct the error message to reflect this. The simple solution is to rename the OBJ filename (and MTL file) to be shorter.

Paul

Hi Paul,
Thanx for explaining.
Just renaming the OBJ and MTL file with shorter name did the job

I have refreshed the installers at the top of this thread with:

2.5.2.10
- Fixed issue where Save was not correctly remembering the last save folder
- Fixed crash when changing ArchiCAD view with the Viewport open when there were proxies in the scene and the Configuration option "Scene Refresh on View Change" was enabled
- Fixed crash when editing proxy values prior to selecting an OBJ proxy file
- Fixed error when changing the proxy OBJ file and the clicking another ArchiCAD element would cause the new OBJ file to not be saved
- Fixed error where pasted proxys were not being saved to the pln file

* KNOWN ISSUE: Due to a bug in ArchiCAD, after you exit to Proxy setup window, you can not re-select that ArchiCAD object unless you move the camera, or switch to a 2d view

And a reminder - proxies only render in the OctaneRender Viewport - not the Photorenderer.

Hi,

I have the Archicad 17 plugin which is great, but we have now moved onto 18.

Will a plug in version for archicad 18 be made available.

Thanks

James

Regarding AC18 - I had an AC18 build of the plugin done about 4-6 weeks ago, but it would not load into AC18. The same code compiles fine and runs in AC17. So I think there is a library missing from AC18 that is in AC17 - but because it is an AC issue I have had to escalate the issue to Graphisoft. Despite many emails and forum posts - I have had no response from them. So regretfully there is little I can do at the moment.

An update on AC18 - with some help from Graphisoft I now have the main plugin (Setup and Viewport windows) running, however the Photorenderer is still not working. Still working on it....

I have refreshed the installers at the top of this thread with:

2.6.0.12
- Fixed crash causing when generating scatter files (this was introduced in 2.0.5.3)
- Fixed crash occurring when Photorendering after the Octane Vewport had been opened, and the Octane resolution was smaller than the Photorender resolution
- Compiled against Octane 2.06 (new kernal pin "GI Clamp")
- Reworking of code to cater for an ArchiCAD 18 build of the plugin
