I just bought a Mac Pro (2019) last month. If I buy a sub for now until Big Sur comes out, will I lose my free license then?

I asked this a minute ago, but OTOY got back to me and said no, it does not hurt the free license. I am ready to play.

Yes. Get a Radeon VII or 5700XT and you’re all set.

Not sure what's wrong here - its just a default cube. I am running a 2018 Mac mini i7 32GB with a Radeon VII eGPU - on macOS 11 Big Sur Beta 2(maybe thats what is wrong?)

Same error on MacBook Pro (16-inch), AMD Radeon Pro 5500M 4 GB, Catalina 10.15.6 (19G73), C4D R20.059

Yes - updated the FAQ to note that only 10.15.6 is supported!

I'm also getting the same error. Running 10.15.6 (19G73):
Octane X Studio PR1 (10000024)

Make sure to use C4D R21 for Octane X:

Note - the Octane X plug-in for C4D should be run on R21. Ahmet noted instability in R20 and R22, so that's the version to test. Same with Maya 2020 and SketchUp 2020, those are the versions to to use with Octane X.

I will add this to the FAQ.

Waiting on support to get my Blender download working, but during my lunch break I threw a high-resolution OBJ onto an HDRI environment and things seem to render pretty fast on a 5600M. Super simple scene, though. Single OBJ with diffuse shaders/textures with a 4k HDR set to path tracing. But the viewport is beautifully responsive. Hoping this scales up well for larger projects.

Guys I have 2 questions: How does this work with a macbook 16 i7 with a AMD Radeon Pro 5300M? My other option is a egpu with a RX 5700 XT.

Also, could you render combining these two cards? Thanks.

I'm getting the same errors as some others running on a Mac Mini, 10.15.6, (2x) RX5700XT eGPU's & C4D R20. So what's the solution if we just paid for Octane X only to find out there's only one version of C4D that it's compatible with, and no one bothered to tell us this kind of important information? A tad bit frustrating.

Tried it in R21 and it works! Thanks

One thing I noticed is that vertex maps aren't displaying, but I haven't had a proper play around with it yet
