Mix familial & workshop house

Hi,

Here is a revisited project of a build mixing a workshop and a familial house.
This was a nice lighting exercise especially for indoor scenes.
The main deal was to render the outdoor view with the internal furniture and to make all that fitting into the 3gb video memory, I had to export a lowres version of the furnitures.

Edit : Here are some additional information

Except the cars, everything was modeled using Blender.

All the trees and vegetation are geometry, no back plane used, instance scatters are very welcome here ;)

I used AO mode 3, AO mode 4 and pathtracing but can't point what has been rendered with what. Anyway as often I rendered two images (Sun and HDR) and mixed them.

The rendering time on two GTX580 varies from 30 min (mainly for outdoor) to 2h (for indoor) depending on the render kernel used.

I used mesh emiters in front of the windows (inside) to increase the light inside the building, portals don't bring enough light.

Postprocessing to improve lighting and contrasts as well as the tone mapping done with Photoshop and Gimp.

Amazing renders, I really like the environment! I am currently in a project where i need to make a lot of grass/trees. How did you make those with octane? Did you use any pluging to scatter the grass?

Your instancing (script) has yet again amazed me, you should look into making it available on the market, my wallet is ready

Really great work!
To me the interiors are much better than the exteriors (many areas are almost crushed to black, too much bloom).
Interiors look beautiful though.
Can you post some details about rendertimes and kernel type?

Nice design and render! Only thing I'm not a big fan of is all of the over exposure, It's a little distracting (although not a huge negative on the overal renders). Otherwise the render looks amazing!

GREAT Images!! I love the balance of lighting in these. I did notice that the heart bump on the white walls is wider on the close up of the vases than everywhere else (it's more compressed in all other images). Other than that these are terrific images with great attention to detail!

Thanks to everyone,

Thanks to some of your comments I changed some outdoor images to reduce the bloom and increase luminosity in dark parts. Hope it's better ;)

I also updated the post with some additional information

@BendBox: Well seen ;) Indeed I fixed the heart bump on that image but didn't wan't to re-render all the others images, as you may guess, due to the huge time required ;)

@Gabrielefx: They were the only cars I had and corresponding more or less to utility cars ;)

@RobSteady: I updated some outdoor images.

@Radiant: I indeed use a personal version of the script but not sure it differs a lot from the one available on the site. I simply used some tricks better fitting my needs but the result should be the same. By the way I may share it but I probably should make a very light documentation. Will check that ...

@Daniel Ahrens: If you are using Blender you can use the script available in that section and indeed you'll be able to use scattering to generate instances ;)
