Alpha Rest Room

Hi,

I modelled some new furniture so here are some shots of a rest room with the theme based on text and numbers.

Edit :

Here are some tec info,

Render kernel : Ambient occlusion mode 4 (like brute force in VRay)
Lighting : HDR + mesh lights to increase light coming from windows
Material : 2 x GTX580 3GB
Rendering time : 2 - 3 hours in 1600 x 1600
Postpro : To fix lighting and remove some residual noise
Polys : About 8 million including instances (like for the carpet)

Sometimes I ask myself why I spend so much time on doing so many personal projects and sometimes I get encouraging answers.

My Alpha Rest Room has been published in the last november issue of 3D World magazine and this helps to proceed on working for nothing else than some satisfaction ;)

great renders Enrico!
I love your works...great illumination, great shading and textuing, great views, all at 100%
My preferred view is the one with the toy car. I havve some questions:
- in the first image the forniture on the left has a text-texture applied or just reflects the texture of the wall? (if the second option, isn't the shader too reflective for being a wood material?).
- the texture of the floor looks amazing, did you created it by yourself?, does it have a bump map? (seems not)

wait to see your next work ;)

Cheers, Paolo
