I am also anxious to hear about the plugin for Octane 4. I am not sure if I understood how the "Brigade" rendering could be used. Can we switch rendering to Brigade in the plugin, or is it only usable in game engines such as Unreal and Unity3D?
In the meanwhile, I was having the [supposedly] bright idea of exporting Poser animations to ORBX from the Octane 3 plugin to render in Octane 4, since the loading times per frame are improved. However, saving animations to ORBX take as much time as to actually render the animation, to include the long delays between frames.
Exporting to ORBX is not an option to speed up animation rendering. Therefore there is no taking advantage of the new Octane 4 speed improvements until the actual plugin is released. OTOY has claimed the API would be released for plugin developers as soon as last March, so I wonder what's happening by the end of October?
