It depends on how you animate invisiblity
Refresh geometry only reloads the objects which are present, and when they are initially invisible, they are not present and therefore not updated.
I think in this case the option in Setup: Keep Materials from Invisible Items will work.
If you animate visibility in materials you should also check reconvert materials each Frame (make sure you save the octane materials as Poser materials)
you can of course also use Refresh Scene each Frame.
