Index of Refraction Default Value

Hi,

I've noticed that the default "Index of Refraction"-Value is set to 0 when looking at a material, however the slider/values allows a float of 1-8.
If you change the value, you can also just go from 1-8.

This might be a bug when converting materials?

High - this is based on the way Octane used to work many years ago - and it correct based on the Specular color that is also converted. If you set the IOR to 1.3 you will need to increase the specular color too.

Hi Paul,

sorry, but I'm slightly confused by your answer :)

What I meant is that the value appears by default to be 0.
However once you change that value, you can only go in a range of 1 to 8, and never turn back to 0.

My question is, does 0 equal 1 for the system in the way of: If I leave it at 0 will it have the same results as if I would set it to 1 ?

From memory an IOR of 0 is the same as 1.0000001. And an IOR of 1.0 is the same as 8. So the default is 0, but once you move the slider you are operating in the new 1.000001 to 8 range.
